Thanks Linda...I really appreciate your detailed and thoughtful responses. This information will help me put in stronger applications next time around. If I still don't feel confident enough, I'll engage your help right away.
I am also wondering if I will fall into the 'older' bucket of applicants if I apply for fall 2011 (I will complete 7 yrs of WE in Sep2011). Also, considering that my plan is to work in US for 5-7 yrs post MBA and then move to India, I am wondering if a US MBA is a smart option considering the loan repayment aspects. Could you please advise me a little bit on these aspects?
Thanks you for all your time and have a great weekend ahead.
Sandy
At 27 you won't be "older"; you will be more experienced than most at that age. You should focus on schools that value experience and the schools you have chosen fit that category. You should also make clear why you need an MBA if you have progressed so far in your career without it. it shouldn't be heard, but it should be done.
Loan repayment is a subject that I can't really comment on because there are so many variables, that are not for a short post or probably for public consideration. In a nutshell, you need to estimate your likely (not best case) income after your MBA and then do the math on loans.
