Hi!!

would like you to evaluate my credentials and reccomend a shortlist of colleges ( if possible)

Work ex : Five years as an entrepreneur ( founder promoter , along with five of my colleagues , of a VC funded venture in India). Currently is the second largest reatil chain in its category. Well known brand name in the category in the country.

Before the venture 3 years of experience in marketing in one of the most admired marketing companies in India ( market leader)

Gmat : 710

Gpa : not vey high % score in the Indian grading system ( 65%). Have completed engineering from one of the better coleges in India and also completed MBA from a premier institution in India.

Looking at doing a course to hone my finance skills to be able to start a new venture in future.

What have you done outside of school or work? The entrepreneurship experience sounds great, but hopefully you have something else that can set you apart from similar-sounding applicants.

Also, why do you want to earn an MBA again if you already have one?

Hi Scott!!

Thanks for ur reply.

Intend to do MBA again for two reasons :

First, I have been active in the domestic scene. India has seen some exponential growth in the last few years along with China. I plan to start a new venture gain and this time be active in the international scene. To specifically buiild my skill sets in finance and to be able to head a new venture, plan to do an international MBA.

Second, an MBA earlier was more of a logical progression for a job after completing my engineering. Having worked for more than 8 yrs , 5 yrs as an entrepreneur an MBA tis time would be to equip myself more with skills that I lack and to be able to be part of a network which I can leverage for my future ventures.

I am not clear about outside work and school , dont think had the time ( after starting a company almost all the time wa spent nurturing and growing it ).

Thanks

Hmm, I see a potentially big weakness in your application being a lack of community involvement and other activities/hobbies/pursuits outside of your job. Without this, you may have a hard time getting into a top U.S. school.

Also, be aware that top b-schools will be skeptical of someone who already has an MBA. They'll really want to know why you want a second one, which is almost unheard of.

Hi scott!!

what i meant was hv not done any part time course or part time job outside my work.

As far as community service is concerned have been very closely involved in a movement for the human rights of people with disability , started as a small event but in three year has become a ntional event.

Also I have been ( during my college days ) cultural secretaty of the college, president of Y's lings club and secretary of leo club.

Hopefully you can show that you took on a leadership role in this event for people with disabilities. That's what adcomms will especially be looking for.
