Hey there,

I am new to this whole thing so I could really use your help.

I screwed up the quant part of the GMAT and only scored a 44 bringing me down to 680 total.
Detailed scores are:

Total 680
Q44
V38
AWA 6.0
IR 8

I want to apply to various Master in Finance programs my favorites being Oxford and Warwick.

My question is whether I should retake the GMAT to try and get a better quant score because in practice test I scored in a range of 48-52?

Rest of my profile:

Will get a BSc in Business Administration from a top-notch school in Germany graduating among the top 10% of class.
Internships at startup and consultancy, planning to do IB in the summer.

Lots of extracurricular stuff, mainly leading positions.

For a master's in finance, they will definitely want to see a strong quant score at those schools. If you think you can easily bump up the Quant to a Q48+ while atleast keeping the verbal the same, this should push you over 700. That score will be looked upon more favorably, and at 680 you havn't quite reached that hump where you've received a "very strong" score.

But you will also have to consider how much time you have before applying, and if retaking will take away from other parts of your application. Make sure you use your remaining time wisely so you get your best return on investment of time. Good luck!

I guess I will try it without retaking then and rather concentrate on the rest of the application.
