tough one

I will go with B

A has modifier problem with 'which'

C and E use 'would be' that gives altogether a different meaning to a sentence.

D again has a modifier problem in 'it'

Except B, all other options have the problem of "which" or "it" which are pointing to the Elk or the mountains,,....whereas they have to point at the whole fact the elks living solely on the mountains...

thats y going for B

All answer choices besides (B) use downright dreadful grammar.
