OK ..the conflict is between A and D
Negate A - Even if the GDP does not decrease , the conclusion will stand because adverse affect on the industry may not SHRINK the GDP..
Negate D - the conclusion will not stand...
So D is the answer

I will go with option D. Reason -- option D negates the possibility of an alternate cause being responsible for the declining profits of the companies.
It eliminates any alternate route to explain the conclusion of the argument and hence there exists only one route which is mentioned in the argument itself.
what is the source ?? I m intrigued.
