Something is not right at Haas Berkeley [#permalink]
02 Jan 2012, 09:26
Guys, I applied to Haas is R1 and still havent heard back from them. What is intriguing is that as per the GMAT Club forum only 5 out of 46 R1 applicants (11%) have been invited to interview. I think thats a low number (assuming that GMAT Club has a representative sample of Haas applicant, which I think it does). Moreover, I havent heard of a single applicant from India (or for that matter China or other Asian countries) being invited to interview. Given that the final decision date for R1 is ominously close (12 Jan 2012), does anyone have any insight into this situation? Any help would be greatly appreciated...Thanks in advance!
PS - For the record, I do believe that I have a profile that matches with Haas and that I have also put in a strong application which should be good enough to get me an interview.

Do you know what happened last year? Perhaps it simply means that there will be more people in the wait list in Round 1.

Still lookking at the 2011 thread. The stats for R1 were: Applied-65 and Interviewed-28 (i.e. 44% of applicants).
Trying to find out 2 things: 1. Did most (30%) interview invites in the last 2 weeks before decision date? and 2. How many R1 applicants got waitlisted without interview and then interviewed at a later date?
Thanks!

Haas has one of the lowest acceptance rate. Mix in the fact that it's a public school which prefers in-state applicants, and that fact that Asian applicants are more over indexed at Haas than any other school. This makes acceptances into Haas for the internationals very difficult. It looks like you got an acceptance at Booth, congrats on that.
