Taking GMAT on 4/28! [#permalink] New post 22 Apr 2008, 07:42
Hey guys,

I really enjoyed reading the posts here. Many were inspirational and the problems posted are great! I have been studying GMAT on and off for around 2 months, but really devoted a large chunk of time to it these past 3 weeks. I went through a lot of review books, including Princeton Review - Cracking the GMAT, Kaplan - GMAT Premier Program, GMAT 800, Arco, Peterson's Review exercises, Official Guide, Official Guide - Verbal, Kaplan CD-ROM, and practice tests from GMATPrep CD. I feel like I am not improving and am very demoralized and burnt out. I took the practice exam also from http://www.crack-gmat.com/ and only got a 585! In other practice tests, I've been scoring in the mid-600s. I am re-doing a lot of problems I did wrong, but I feel like since I went over the explanations, I know a lot of answers by heart already. I am taking the GMAT next Monday and feel like there's nothing I can do to raise my score in so little time. I keep on making the stupidest mistakes in math and verbal and have gone through all the techniques, practice problems, but am still not improving. I also struggle with the really difficult math problems due to lack of time to find the solution.

What should I do? Please give me any advice you guys can share. :(

Good luck tangdja - the most important thing is to not mentally exhaust yourself and make sure that you do not make silly errors. Forget about the Ultra hard problems, focus on getting easy - medium problems right 99.9% .

Also get some sleep the night before :)

What bsd said. I find people get way too worked up trying to figure out how to do the most difficult problems, but in reality you aren't going to see tons of those, no matter how well you are scoring. Lock down the "easy" - be careful - and the moderately difficult problems, and you will be just fine on the exam.
