Taking GMAT without passport? [#permalink] New post 07 Jul 2011, 20:37
Hi Everybody,

Curently in Shanghai, I had (you will understand why I am talking in the past) my GMAT scheduled this Monday 11 of July in Shanghai.

We have a work journey organized in Hong Kong the wednesday 13. What happened is that I had to make an new VIsa entry in order to come back to China. This procedure takes 5 open days so it will be ready the 12 of July or one day after my GMAT appointment.

The problem is that by the meantime they make my new entry, they keep my passport. I realized the day after that I needed my passport to take the GMAT exam!

Statement (1): Any chance to contact GMAC or the Test Center to let me take the exam with my national ID card or the attestation replacing my passport.

Statement (2): Try to move the things, and speed up the process at the Chinese Administration...

A. Statement 1 is sufficient by itself
B. Statement 2 is sufficient by itself
C. The those statement are too independent, this answer can be waived
D. Don't need the 2 Statement to be suffcient
E. You just wasted $250, you stupid moron!

I was wondering if Pearson has a special enquiry section, I mean in this case I have an official document stating that my passport is in the hand of the chinese government. As a lawyer I was wondering, "wait a minute... every policy has exceptions and emergency procedure! Extreme Scenario; somebody died before taking the test would Pearson give a refund...?, or simpler what if somebody lost his passport a couple of day before the exam"

If somebody has an idea, please let me know.

Right now I go with answer E, the lovely chinese ladies from the Pearson and the TEst center both repeated me incessently "If foreigner, need passport to take GMAT exam...". Trying the Chinese administration to speed up the process is a lost cause...
