I just took the GMAT this week, was a little unprepared, and scored a 600. I'd like to get my score up - how much time should I take before the second exam? I feel like I want enough time to prepare well, but if I give myself too much time, I will put off studying a little. Thoughts?

What is the break score for Q and V?
First of all you should have a target score and then build your fundamentals for both quant and verbal. Once you are near your target score on Gmatprep, book the date and give the exam.
Or
If you can overcome your weak areas in 'n' months and you are quite affirmative about it. Then book the date now for that value of 'n' month.

The quickest answer is you can take gmat only once every 30 days.
If you want to wait more than that, the time depends on how much studying you did already and your target score.
