From one school I attended (I have two transcripts), the unofficial transcript just shows up on a webpage and I can copy and paste the grades into a word document. Otherwise, I have to order an official transcript. Has anyone else just done the copy and paste approach? Also, what if the official transcript is slightly different in format from the unofficial (i.e., shows transfer credits, etc.)?

A lot of schools have a stock transcript form for the unofficial reporting. I was originally going to submit a more "official" transcript that I received from my college but to be honest, I think it had more information than necessary. Most of the schools use the same excel form.

I must have misunderstood then. It seems that for the Wharton app you have to do the excel file and also upload the transript. The excel file would be much easier, so maybe I misunderstood. So you are saying that it is one or the other.

For Wharton, I only did the excel file (no official transcript). They allow you to send the official ones later on upon admittance, I believe.
