We all know that 'which' indicates non essential modifier and should proceed by a comma. Does that mean we will 'which' in SC always proceeded by a comma and we will not have 'which' in the statements without coma.

Pl discuss with exls.

I think the "which modifier" should always be ", which". For example, "I like the house, which Jack built."

You can use "which" to start a question, which does not require a comma. For example, "Which house did Jack build?"

other usages of which that i got from og10(only, there may be more :| ) here..

in which - found in the organ in which the tumor appears
to which - denotes the extent to which light..
of which - the features of which are..
against which - land, the collateral against which farmers borrow

a good explanation of that vs which..

you use "that" when the information that follows is needed to identify the subject of the main clause and you use "which" when the information that follows is NOT needed to identify the subject of the main clause.
