Wharton-Lauder Profile Evaluation [#permalink] New post 04 Jan 2011, 02:37
Hi everyone,
Wanted to get a sense of my chances at the Wharton-Lauder program(China track). Info is below:

GPA: 3.37 from top 3 US Uni
GMAT: Not taken yet, but hitting 700+ on my practice tests.
Language:Advanced Mandarin. I use it on a day to day basis. Listened to Lauder samples and am confident I can reach the high end of their standard.
Work Experience: Will have 3 years work in BJ at tech startup. Promotions and wide range of responsibilities across the business (marketing, product development and strategy). Worked with partners in Singapore, US and Japan. I also do part-time writing for political/economic consulting firm.

Concerned about the relatively low GPA (I always did poorly in language classes, even though I consider that a strength now) and my work experience. The startup has been great, but its not a name-brand.

Appreciate any feedback and advice. Any other info on good joint-degree programs with some kind of China focus would be great as well.
Thanks!

With a 700+ GMAT and the Mandarin you should be competitive, the avg GPA for the lauder program is higher but you have a shot!

Agreed: competitive, but still a reach: your low GPA is somewhat counterbalanced by your Mandarin proficiency.
