Hello everyone,
I am wondering about my chances of going to HBS. Please let me know what you, guys, think. I am Russian. I have moved to the US 4 years ago when I was 20. I am still an undergrad senior with majors in finance and economics. I study at Simmons College (a small all-women’s school in Boston). Simmons has a pretty good reputation in the area, and I know that Simmons grads have been accepted to Harvard before. My current GPA is 4.00. I plan to apply to HBS in the fall/winter following my graduation to enter Harvard in the fall of 2006. So, I will have just one year of full-time experience.
By the time I graduate in May 2005, my part-time work experience will have consisted of owning and operating a B&B in Boston since 2000. I will have had a part time job as a financial assistant and then as a client portfolio specialist for 2 years (total). I will have had 2 internships (index research intern 6 month, and brokerage intern 5 month) I will also have had some tutoring jobs in Computer science and Economics (6 month each). I have done a lot of Community service work; I am currently a co-president at an Investment club (for 2 years).
I am planning to take GMAT over the summer, and I hope to get 710 or so. I have been practicing this test on and off for two years now, so I am pretty familiar with the GMAT’s format.
I guess what concerns me the most that I have not really had a full-time corporate work experience. And I guess I need some unbiased perspective on what are my chances to get in to HBS in the Fall of 2006. I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you so much.
