When comparing 2 things, such as:

1) I did better on the exam than you
2) I did better on the exam than you _did_

2) should be correct. However, one of the questions in OG11 says that this is correct:

...the site of an ancient civilization that flourished at the same time as the civilizations in the Nile delta.

Shouldn't this be rewritten as:

...the site of an ancient civilization that flourished at the same time as the civilizations in the Nile delta _had_?
