area of the sheet = 2x2 = 4

Surface area of the box = b^2 + (4bh) where b is the base and h is the height

so b^2 + (4bh) = 4 so h = (4-b^2)/4b

volume = b^2*h

substitute for h we get volume = b*(4-b^2)/4
