Hello:

I was a Geography major(2.8gpa) and I took courses in Finance(C), Accounting(C), Marketing(A), Elementary Functions and Coordinate Geometry(D) and Management(B). I also had an F in College Algebra and in one of my Geograpy courses. I was wondering if I should take some extra courses, given my GPA, to build an alternative transcript or simply not worry about it as I have already taken business courses? Advice appreciated. Thanks.

when did you take these "business" classes? Was it during your college year? If so, how long has it been since you graduated from college? An alternative transcript is always a great way to show adcoms that you're a serious applicant, who has the intellectual aptitude to succeed in their programs. If you're several years from the last class you took, I'd say to build an alternative transcript as soon as possible, and make sure you get A's (and B's). If you're aiming for a top 10 b-schools, you'd really want to do well in the quant section GMAT. A retake of college algebra would be nice as well. Also, if you haven't taken calculus and statistics, those are great classes to consider on your alternative transcript.
