LOL...I feel like such a sellout. I will put it this way - I am sending my check to Kellogg but I am still on the Stanford waitlist).
Like Kry, I wish I could do an exchange program with another U.S school.
Note to all 2009 Applicants: make sure your screen names does not contain school specific info unless that is the only school you are applying to

Emoryhopeful is a good example of a person who could use a schools name since he did only apply to that one school.

nervous, CONGRATS on the decision! I definitely know how relieved you feel right now. So, what made you choose Kellogg in the end? River, don't worry, I think it booted me when I removed myself from the Northwestern group (it was weird having a "Northwestern Grad Student" in my facebook profile.

Ultimately, it came down to my desire to be in Midwest and Kellogg's reputation as a top school for Marketing.

Kry, the city of Chicago is the place to be for gmatclubbers. Between GSB and Kellogg there are going to be a couple dozen of us there next year...you are going to miss out on a great time. I think I am going to have to ask Rhyme remove you from the chicagoland google group...got to keep the west coast riff raff out. BTW, people going to Kellogg, if you havent joined the google group yet join up: http://groups.google.com/group/chicagolandgmatclub

Great choice nervous! If I were choosing between any other schools (maybe except Stanford), I would pick Kellogg (even over all the other UEs). LOL river. Hey, it's a privilege to have me in the Chicagoland group, so you better appreciate it! I know I'll be missing out on the great GMATClubber interactions in Chicago. I had such a great time meeting a fraction of the people who will be going there (futureduke and ghgirl) I can only image the get togethers you guys will have! I'll fly in for some TGs if schedule allows, don't worry!

I am not sure how often everyone checks out the admitted student section but they have the pre-term schedule posted now and also the date for KWEST registration is going to be May 21st. There are some new things for internationals on there too (not sure if anyone going is international on here) and registration for student house is now available. Also, laptop ordering and pre-enrollment courses should be available soon. My wife and I are still debating top choices for Kwest...there are so many amazing trips its hard to choose. A few would be great (Thailand) but the travel time is just too much for only a week and I am surprised they have trips like that. I mean 20 hours of flying each way is a bit much for 6 or 7 days.

Not sure where our WL folks stand in the process at this point. This is an interesting quote from the adcom who posts on BW. Quote: Hi,
In some years, we have been able to make more systematic passes over the wait list; however, in tighter years such as this one it does often come down more to specific characteristics or profiles--in other words, if we notice that most of our admitted bankers from Canada are turning us down, we might comb the wait list for a Canadian banker to admit. (Please don't read anything into this example--a gross simplification of the process.) We might give a slight preference to a round 1 applicant vs. round 2 or 3 in this type of case, but not necessarily. So, basically at this time we are still assessing whether we have open spaces and what type of "holes" we need to fill in the class.
Best Regards, Kristen

Best Regards, Kristen I got a similar type of response when I spoke with my waitlist manager at Columbia last week. Bottom line is that it's going to be a tough nut to crack through the WL this year.

What I find interesting is that she basically flat out states they sort of have goals for the number of people from specific groups (aka quotas).
