Friends can anyone please let me know in actual Gmat exam when can we expect the experimental questions? In many forums I see people mentioning between Q#16-Q#28, is this really true? or the questions can come in any order? will be waiting for the response

Hi Kotela,

Few of my friends took Gmat recently. They said that the experimental questions could come in any order and moreover we can't find which are experimental ones.

Hope it helps.

There is NO WAY to know what questions are scored vs what questions are experimental.

The GMAC will NEVER release any information regarding this as it would ruin its R&D process for new question development and implementation.

The best procedure is to keep trucking through, rather than wasting time or "bandwidth" thinking about it.

That isn't really true - there's actually an official research report that explains how experimental questions are used on the test. It's just that even if you know how they're used, that doesn't help you at all - you still won't be able to tell during the test which questions count and which don't.

Experimental questions are organized in 'batches', and I think that's done so that the difficulty level of everyone's experimental questions is similar. Before you start your test, a random 'batch' of experimental questions is selected for you. In addition, a random set of question numbers is chosen, and that's where your experimental questions will show up. Since this is all done completely randomly before you start your test, you won't have any way of knowing when you will see an experimental question, and nothing you do during your test will affect where your experimental questions appear. Your best strategy is thus to just assume every question counts and try your best to answer each.

buddy, we shouldn't be concerned about it at all for three reasons:-
1) No way we can differentiate whether a question is an actual one or experimental.
2) While trying to differentiate between an actual and an experimental one, you will end up wasting valuable time ,energy, and focus, resulting in drop in valuable points.
3) lets suppose even by applying ur guess power , u come to d conclusion that its a experimental question but still will u take a chance by guessing it and not working on it.Probably not.
So let's focus all on the questions one by one without any distractions .
