Hi Guys is there an efficient way to do this:

In the rectangular coordinate system shown above, does the line k(not shown) intersect with quadrant 2?

1) The slope of k is -1/6
2) The y intercept of k is -6

I did this thru trial and error. Thanks

Just remember the rule

Slope is negative in the 2nd and 4th quadrant.
Slope is positive in the 1st and 3rd quadrant.

Got confused since I recall a similar question in the 2 Powerprep test. In that question, the answer was contingent to the y intercept. I guess the question stem was different. It could have been asking if a line with a negative slope will have a point in the first quadrant or something thanks again
