Interview experience [#permalink] New post 08 Oct 2011, 03:04
I attended an interview last week with a really good university that I am very keen on attending. I haven''t submitted my application yet.
Though I was able to answer most questions, I got stuck in one and overall I felt I could have done better. I had mixed feelings about it because at one point the interviewer said that the school emphasizes on communication and leadership skills(I have a decent profile in both aspects) and another time she said that I should be careful about what schools I chose that would best fit my profile. Not sure if that was just general advice, but another time she said the school focuses on general management and I had expressed my interest in marketing. So you can imagine when I say mixed feelings :).

Does anyone have some opinion on this? Am I reading into it too much? Moreover, I hear that if the interview goes well, they usually give you some sort of a hint that they are interested but I didnt get any. I wrote back thanking the interviewer for their time and didnt hear back either for a week. Im hoping its just the fact that they have been busy. Has this happened to anyone?

No, the interview is only one part of the application. Plenty of applicants have reported "fantastic interviews" only to be dinged later, while some reported "tanking the interview" only to be offered a spot in the class.

I wouldn't worry about not hearing back from the thank you email.
