If x and y are positive, is x > y^2?

1) y > x^2
2) y = x+1

The OA says B but I think the OA is incorrect for the following reason:
try setting y = 10, x =11 (which satisfies y = x +1)

y^2 = 100
x^2 = 121

here x < y^2

no try setting y=1/10 , x = 11/10 (which satisfies y = x +1)

y^2 = 1/100
x^2 = 121/1000

here x > y^2

The only restriction on x and y is that they are positive. They both can be integers or fractions of mixed.

since we have two results thats satisfy the stimulus (y=x+1), B is insufficient.

and the answer should be C

Mate y= x+1

So Y>X (you've made this mistake in both ur calculations. The first one is incidentally right but the second one because of ur calculation error you swapped the values of X & Y.)

in the second example if x = 1/10 then y = 11/10

Just chill a bit look closely. It's pretty straightforward

Hope this helps.
