I believe a relatively low GMAT score and a slightly less work-ex and no volunteer activities can hinder my chances for admission at top B schools this year. Would want to hear your views and other recommended B-Schools that I can apply to.
Also, would love to hear your views on what can make my profile stronger for these schools if I choose to apply next year.
Thanks!
Hey mmg,
You have superior academics and your professional background looks pretty notable with international exposure. Apart from the schools you have short listed, you should also target some realistic b-schools like: Duke, Cornell, UT-Austin, Kelley, Emory, Texas-Mays, McDonough, HKUST & Nanyang with high consultancy placement rate post MBA. As the average GMAT Score for these B-Schools fall in between 590-750 range, you have possibility of being accepted (2013 intake). Moreover the applicants aren't satisfied until they achieve 780 score.
You are in ideal phase of your career. On the other hand you need to skillfully prepare for questions like your underlying principle behind applying to a specific B-school and change from IT background to consulting. The subsequently step for you is to focus more on your application essays & recommendations for these Business Schools. Hence it would be prudent to seek aid from proficient consultants for direction on preparing stellar application and get your essays/scholarship essays evaluated before sending it out along with your application.
