1. The national rank in Sales Revenue and national rank in Sales Volume are positively correlated. => Yes

Sort by Sales Revenue (National Rank), look at column Sales Volume (National Rank), the ranks also ascending

2. If no company had less than 1% of National Sales Revenue, then there were only two companies contributing to National Sales revenue in Electronics. => Yes

In Electronics category, the Company ranks 2nd in National Sales Revenue with 49.5% National Shares
=> This means the 1st has more than 49.5%
=> Total of 1st and 2nd is already more than 99%

If there were a 3rd company, it must has less than 1% share
=> Impossible
=> Then there must only be 2

3. There were at least four companies dealing with clothing in country X. => No

In Clothing category The Company ranks
  • 3rd in Sales Revenue with 26%. The first 2 companies could already cover the remaining 74%
  • 2nd in Sales Volume with 24%. The first 2 companies could already cover the remaining 74%
So we cannot conclude whether there could be a 4th company

Sort the table as per increasing order of national rank in Sales Revenue and you will find the national rank in Sales Volume too increasing. Hence, both are positively correlated. YES

2. If no company had less than 1% of National Sales Revenue, then there were only two companies contributing to National Sales revenue in Electronics.
Check the row of Electronics, company Y has 49.5% share and yet it is 2nd overall in national ranking. For sure, there is another company that has greater than 49.5% share.
Combined, both these companies have greater than 49.5+49.5 or 99%, so less than 1% is unaccounted for. But we know no company had less than 1% of National sales revenue, so only these two countries contributing, one with 49.5% and other with 50.5%. YES

3. There were at least four companies dealing with clothing in country X.
We have ranking of company Y 3rd and 2nd in national ranking. So, we cannot say whether there are more number of companies below Y. We just know that there are at least 3 companies. NO

Positively correlated means the general trend is same, so most values should follow same direction. Few could be in opposite direction too but we are concerned with the MOST.
