ywilfred
192 = 2*96
= 2*3*32
= 2*3*4*8
= 2*2*2*2*2*2*3
= 6(2*2*2*2*2)

Number of multiples: 6

I am missing something here could you please explain how you get
= 6(2*2*2*2*2) ?
isn't it "7" since 2*2*2*2*2*2*3 has "7" positive divisors which are also multiples of 6.

Please explain..... Thanks.

Re: How many positive divisor of 192 are also multiples of 6 [#permalink]
192 can be prime factorized into: 2*2*2*2*2*2*3. But we want to see how many multiples of 6. In order to get see that easily, we can combine one of the 2 and 3 to get a 6.
Thus we have 6(2*2*2*2*2). So now we know there are 5 multiples of 6 (from the five 2s'). But we must also count in the number 6 by itself since that's a multiple of 1.

Do you know any even number greater than 2 can be written as the sum of two prime numbers (same or different)
