Is the LSAT CR bible similar to the GMAT CR bible? It seems that they would be very similar.

The LSAT CR Bible is more difficult, and people have reported success in scoring much higher when using the LSAT guide.

If you need easier problems, lower ranked, the Powerscore CR Bible is the way to go. You will get higher ranked problems, but not in the difficulty range of the LSAT Bible.

Now I would say I am scoring roughly 80th percentile on verbal and all three parts are about equal for me...SC maybe slightly weaker than CR. Do you think that warrants the LSAT bible for CR?

Some have said it was what put them over the edge on killing the 700+ CR problems.

In the end, it's about the benefit from spending more time on an topic (cost benefit analysis).

If you're fine with how you're scoring, then don't spend more time and move on.

It seems that I might get slightly more benefit out of SC than CR. Can the MGMAT CR and SC, along with plenty of practice get one over the 40 V mark? I should probably go back through the books and see if I can raise my score a few points.

Many people have broken the 40 mark on verbal with what you have.

Again, you're asking a very subjective questions expecting an objective answer. A lot of what you're asking depends on your ability and what the book offers.

Read the debrief threads and find someone who described similar difficulties with prep/the test. This will give you some indication of what worked vs what did not work.

I have both the GMAT CR bible & the LSAT CR bible. I would go with the GMAT CR bible. (I am a 700+ scorer)

The LSAT CR bible is about twice as thick as the GMAT bible. In my opinion it's too long to be useful. I worked through all the GMAT bible readings & problems, and then got a copy of the LSAT bible and just did the problems inside (no readings). The GMAT bible goes through everything you need to know. The LSAT bible just expands on those topics.

ive never read the GMAT bible, but ive read through all of the LSAT CR bible and i can say that if you have the time, go for the LSAT LR bible instead. alot of the additional stuff may seem superfluous, but having read through the whole thing, i really think it helped push me over the top. alot of it may not seem relevant, but it provides you with a new way of thinking about CR problems

Mohater - I agree with your point, I was just referring to myself as an average candidate for example (i.e. would the approach work for the average joe). Thank you for the advice.

Shadow - I am going to look into it. Assuming I have time to review it before my test, I will probably buy the book and go over it. Thank you for the tips.

Topher - Thank you for clarifying. I still might take a look if time permits, but I'm glad to now know.
