I work in a BB(GS, Merrill, Morgan Stanley) as a Financial Advisor. Got promted 3 times in a quick span of over 2 years. Deals with Premier client. Total experiance 3 years. 25 years old. will be 4 yr experiance on matriculating.

Planning to take Gmat, expecting over 700 (MGMAT practice is over 700)

Went to school in one of the best schools in south asia for undergrad in Mathematics. GPA of 2.4 which is very low. There were 3 reasons for low GPA
1. Supporting my college expenses by teaching Maths to high school. I still support my family back home.
2. School was competitive, courses were abstract and therotical and only 20% people had over 3.0 GPA
3. My non-serious attitude(party, laziness)

I graduated from college and came to US and made it in big firm, started at a non-officer but made my way up. US citizen

Extra-curricular are decent: Executive Commitee member in 2 school societies, mentoring new hires at my work place, volunteer for elderly support

Has series 7(90%), Series 66, CFP level 3, Actuarial sciences(p1)

My post MBA goal is to join sell side trading, consulting inspires me a lot also.

My problem is i am very confused, my job is decent and it pays well, i have a low GPA but strong analytical skills and looking to get into a good school. I know few alumni of NYU-stern and will love to be part of their MBA

Please advise if i have a shot at any one of these schools and what can i do to make it better. Also if u can reccomend 2-3 schools i have a chance at and a safety school please,

Dream: wharton, columbia
Target: NYU-stern, Marshall, UT-Austin
I live in NJ so last resort can be rutgers

I would seriously appreciate any feedback

If I assume you end up with a 720, let's say, Wharton, CBS, and NYU Stern would be stretch programs. Marshall and UT would be in reach. You may also want to consider Georgetown, Yale, and Duke

Best,
Linda
