Hello goktug26, thanks for your question.
Your GPA will be a challenge. I would try to explain the mitigating factors in the optional essay. Keep in mind that other applicants will have faced similar circumstances in university. Try to call out the factors of your case that really stand out. Moreover, do you have any other analogue that is a better representation of your academic ability and potential? Programs will want to know that you can handle the material.
Your competitiveness will really come down to the quality of your leadership experience both in and out of the office. Can you point to “moments” where you have influenced people/organizations, driven results, or taken initiative? The more you can demonstrate your leadership potential, the better your chances at these programs.
In terms of extracurricular activities, university ones don’t factor in as much. Some programs ask outright for experiences from the past 3 years. Do you have any non-work activities where you can point to your leadership or teamwork skills?
In terms of your post-MBA goals, I am not totally clear on why you need an MBA. You will need to make a persuasive case to the admissions committees about why taking 2 years off will actually jumpstart your already burgeoning consulting career.
I hesitate to make definitive calls without a GMAT score and more information about the quality of your leadership experience and how you would mitigate your GPA. With limited data, I think you could shoot for Berkeley and other similar programs (e.g., Tuck, Ross).
Best of luck,
Brian
