It feels like there is something wrong about E but because of alliances and treaties I feel it is correct. otherwise most of the choices reflect bilateral relations or verb tense problem. I would have chosen E on GMAT.
But if I go by "several little-known episodes...........that illustrate" then C. Lot of neural traffic for this question. grrrrrr
Thanks to insinnuendos that I am trying to show off, I dont have any official answer.
I did not make an innuendos that you are trying to show off. I said that people who "show off" by copying hard questions from puzzle or contest books in order to play "stump the forum", but do not take the time to show the solution, nor show how such questions are relavent to the GMAT, do not contribute constructively to this forum and create frustration for those here who want to learn.
I apologize if you took it wrongly, but your subsequent decision to purposely "withhold" answers is not helpful to anyone; and merely reinforces my statement that those who post question without confirming answers are not acting in the spirit of this forum -- one in which we collectively try to teach and learn. _________________
