Please help me in the following...

In addition to having more protein -than wheat does, the protein in rice is higher quality than that in wheat,
with more of the amino acids essential to the human diet.

(A) the protein in rice is higher quality than that in

(C) the protein in rice is higher in quality than it is in
(D) rice protein is higher in quality than it is in
(E) rice has a protein higher in quality than

B proper comparison. "that" = protein in B



OA is B. However, I think the answer should be be rice has protein of higher quality than wheat has, which is not in the option.. Can you please explain how you are able to zero in on this answer?

A. wrong because we need "rice" as subject
B. correct: the comparison is between the protein in rice(of higher quality than...) and the protein in wheat
C. see A
D. see A
E. wrong comparison

B for me.

Correct comparison should have sentence starting with "rice" and not rice protein.

between B and E, E makes wrong comparison, comparison should be made between the proteins in wheat and rice.
