Specific question data banks [#permalink] New post 28 May 2010, 01:50
I searched the forum but haven't found an answer: There is a number of question data banks from various sources (Kaplan, Jeff Sackmann, GMAT Club tests etc.) Are questions in these data banks categorized into specific areas (e.g., number properties, probability etc.)?

Could someone recommend free sets (both for quant and verbal) or tell me where to get them? Again, I have found SC and RC sets on the forum. More sets would be really great.

Thanks.

So, I've done a little research myself:

Jeff Sackmann: categorized, IMO very expensive
Kaplan: mixed feelings.
Club Tests: only the hardest questions are categorized. It'd be great if all the questions could be categorized as well

Hi,

We also offer question banks, categorized by question. The best way to get these banks is to buy one of our books, which includes the extra questions for free (for that specific topic.) But, if you really just want extra problems (which we don't suggest - we focus strongly on knowing content before doing tons of practice questions) you can buy them here: http://www.manhattangmat.com/storeitems ... 30&catid=4

Best Wishes,

Caitlin, could you please specify how exactly the questions are categorized?

Hi,

Each of the 8 question banks is categorized according to the 8 sections into which we split our books:
    Critical Reasoning
    Equations, Inequalities, & VICs
    Fractions, Decimals, & Percents
    Geometry
    Number Properties
    Reading Comprehension
    Sentence Correction
    Word Translations

Hope that helps clarify!

Best,
Caitlin
