Given: A group of runners start a race simultaneously on a circular track of 1000 meters. Runner A can complete a lap in 250 seconds, while runner B can complete a lap in 200 seconds.

Asked: How many times will they meet at the starting point before runner B finishes 10 laps?

Runner B 10 lap timings = {0,200,400,600,800,1000,1200,1400,1600,1800,2000}
Runner A lap timings = {0,250,500,750,1000,1250,1500,1750,2000}
Common timings at starting points = {0,1000,2000}

Number of times they meet at the starting point before runner B finishes 10 laps = 3 including starting point

Since a 3rd meeting at the 2000 second mark would coincide with B's 10th lap, it necessarily doesn't occur BEFORE B's 10th lap.

So the only meetings that occur are at the beginning and at the 1000 second mark, or 2.

The question is poorly worded for the intended solution.
