Guys I'm pretty sure that brill00 was just joking. E-mailing Wharton with the subject header "Waitlist remove"? That'll probably get you automatically pulled out of their database. It's like when people ask IT questions and you say "oh yeah, just delete the System32 folder. Should be all good"

With this "dont contact us" policy of Wharton, I am not sure how do I put this information across. Would be grateful if any of you could advise in this regard. Hey, you should email them. You should have been instructed on how to do it. Here are the instructions below: "Should you decide to remove yourself from our waitlist at any point, we ask you to let us know via an email to mba-admiss@wharton.upenn.edu, with the subject header "Waitlist Remove." Again, this is particularly in fairness to other applicants, as it helps us to know we are considering and reviewing only those candidates who are still interested in the program." The question was asked how to contact Wharton to let them know about the promotion so it could be considered as part of the his or her application. It was not how to contact them to withdraw the application due to a promotion. To answer that question, my sense is that Wharton truly doesn't want more information so I'm not sure there's any way to convey this promotion unless you want to roll the dice and openly ignore their instructions not to contact them. Ah, I see now. I assumed that since the poster was clear that you strictly cannot add any more information to your profile, that it couldn't have been a question about doing so... That, and generally when people achieve big boosts in their careers they reconsider whether they want to get an MBA at the time.

When Wharton does call me, I will not pick up the call..will not reply to emails and will make them wait till the last possible minute before accepting. I really want to get a call so I can give them the silent treatment my boyfriend so dreads.

JMG wrote: Summer waitlist....does anybody know how big this waitlist is? It's a black box. Judging by responses so far, it seems like most people on the wait list from R2 carried over, with one ding thus far and no one getting in. Going off previous years, it seems like the WL is fairly large, especially given Wharton's yield. To get off the summer wait list, you pretty much need people deciding not to go after paying deposits or getting in R3 and declining admission so it's not terribly likely. Going through last year's thread, 1 person reported an admit in the summer.
