LetsGoMets do you know what Emory means by official transcript? Do the expect us to call our Alma Mater and have transcripts sent straight to emory, or do we submit a scanned copy / issued copy sent to us?

Yes, transcript sent from your alma mater directly to emory. For me, it was actually pretty easy to do, much easier than I expected.

Has anyone ever heard of being invite to participate in a second interview? Is this a good sign or a bad sign? Thanks.

Sometimes, the interviewer might forget to put your interview report in the file.Check with them on why you need to give an interview again.

Class2012,
Thank you for your response. I received the invitation over the phone and the person I spoke to said that she didn't know why I was invited for a second interview other than that the admissions committee can request whatever they'd like. Have you ever heard of a second interview if they in fact filed my interview correctly?

I have not heard of a 2nd interview.
Do you have an option of where to conduct the interview?
If anything I would consider it good news because you have not been removed from the running. They might want to make sure that you are truly interested so reinforce how Emory is your first choice (whether it is or not).
It is nice to see they are still rolling out decisions and informing applicants. I am 4 weeks in now after I completed my interview. No phone calls or changes in the OPUS system.

Just realized that Emory's essays allow for 550 + 250 + 250 + 550 words (one or two pages double-spaced) Which comes down to 1600 words only. Even the HBS app with its extremely brief essays allowed 1800 words. Wharton on the other hand was 3500 - 4000 when you include the Fellowship essays. Go figure Did you guys mention the other schools you were applying to in the Emory app? Was Emory your reach, safety, perfect fit program when you applied?

I don't remember if Emory asked where else are you applying (I know UT and NYU specifically asked).
But if Emory did ask, I think I mentioned schools that were less than Emory from a rank perspective.
I thought of Emory as my safety school when I started the application process back in October, but by reading these forums I don't think there is a true safety. I know a friend that got into HBS but denied from IU. Also another that got interviews at Chicago, Northwestern, MIT and straight up denied from UT w/o interview.
Every school should be your number one choice when applying and interviewing in my opinion.

I think Emory did ask, and I had a hard time with this question. They were my safety, but obviously I didn't want to tip my hand too much. I thought that if I put some stronger schools on the list, they might be more likely to offer scholarship $. As it turns out, they were the only one of the 6 I applied to which actually accepted me, and there was no scholarship offered.

I visited for supersaturday and interviewed then, before my application was turned in. I am trying to gauge the level of excitement you showed for the program?

A good friend of mine goes there now. He calls me all the time and says how great it is, so I certainly had many talking points. I still haven't visited the campus. I'll be there in 2 weeks to look at Emory/Goizueta. I had my interview in NYC before an MBA fair back in September, also before my application was submitted..

ATL is a fun city and the campus is beaufitul. Even though the program is ranked in the low 20s, I can see them pushing the high teens at some point due to the revamped curriculum and strong faculty (the presenters for supersaturday made visitors known of prof's ivy league pedigree). Some say you might not recoup your opportunity cost with a low 20s ranked program, but if you have a fit there I say go for it.

I'm certainly considering it strongly. They are the only school to accept me thus far.

R2 applicants (Dec 1), has anyone received interview invite? If yes, then can you please share your profile and the date when you received the invite.
Thanks
