I'll second MBAGirl on the fact that Emory does care about their students. I still haven't made up my mind (I'm actually leaning toward CMU), but Emory has treated me like family since my interview back in last October.
Christmas time, they sent out cards signed by the admissions office.
They took their NY area admitted students out to Brunch or Dinner last sunday, both the head of admissions and one of the deans of the B-school were there, as well as a half dozen recent alumni. I went to the dinner, and they had 13 admits there at a pretty nice place. I believe they had a similar event for the DC area as well.
A good friend of mine is a student in their 1 year program, and I asked him if they're this nice to their current students. No hesitation on his part: Yes.
Whatever I end up deciding, I will feel like Emory cares about their admits/current students more than mosts schools in the top 30. It's really a shame that they don't place as well with hedge funds as CMU does. (I also think that I'm a bit biased because I just got into CMU, and they haven't had time yet to have these events with me)
