My interview for the GT Scheller MBA was conducted by Caroline Player, alongside a current second-year student, which added an engaging dynamic to the conversation. While I hadn’t anticipated a student joining, I had heard about this from a former student at a college event. The interview was relaxed and conversational. Caroline and the student introduced themselves, and after my brief introduction, they asked follow-up questions about my interests, leading to a great discussion where both seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me beyond my resume. Here’s a list of the questions they asked: - Why is now the right time for an MBA? Why an MBA, and why Scheller? - What sort of consulting companies are you targeting? (in relation to my post-MBA goal of pivoting to consulting) - Tell me about a time when you had to convince someone; what was your approach? - Tell me about a time you worked in a team. - What qualities do you look for while working in a team? - What qualities do you bring while working in a team? - Tell me about a time when you were proud of leading a group of people. - What is your leadership style? - What is a misperception people have about you? (an unexpected question) - What steps have you taken in the past (at work or in any organization) to help people around you feel respected and included? - What contributions will you make to your classroom and to the Scheller community? - Tell me about your experience interacting with teams or clients across the globe. Were any US-based? Where were they primarily located? - Are you aware of visa challenges down the line, and who will sponsor your visa later on? - Do you have any questions for us? I concluded the interview with my own questions, gaining further insights into Scheller’s community and values. Overall, the interview felt like a genuine conversation, giving me a chance to showcase my experiences, skills, and values. I appreciated the opportunity to highlight how I plan to contribute to the Scheller community and my readiness for the MBA journey. Read Less

I did my interview on Thursday. Format was virtual with an admissions officer and a 2nd year student sort of taking turns asking questions. It was a mix of get to know you type questions and behavioral type questions where they asked some things like: a time when I gave a presentation and how it went; something I'm most proud of; what I've done/I do to support diversity and inclusion within my organization, etc... I felt very comfortable throughout as they did an excellent job of making it feel like a dialogue and not just a sequence of questions I had to answer. I asked the 2nd year student how they decided to attend Scheller when they were applying to schools and they gave a very candid answer that I really appreciated. Read Less

The interview lasted for around 45 minutes, and it was pretty conversational. It was conducted by admissions director and a current 2nd year MBA student. The 2nd year student was having access to my resume only not the entire application. Surprising thing is that, they didn't start the interview with the typical 'Tell about your background' or 'Tell me about yourself' question but rather with 'Why MBA' question after an initial conversation. I asked them whether they would like to hear my introduction, they said that they have my resume handy and wouldn't require that. Below are the questions (may not be in the same order asked) : 1) Why MBA? 2) Why Scheller? 3) What courses or specialisation you are looking for? What clubs you would you like to be part of? 4) What is your post-MBA goal? Any specific companies you are looking for? 5) What is your greatest achievement - Can be professional or personal? 6) Instance where you showed leadership. What is your leadership style? 7) How do you handle conflicts with your team mates? 8) Situation where you dealt with diversity in the team 9) How do your colleagues or friends describe you? 10) Whom did you reach out to among our current students? 11) What do you do in your free time? 12) After learning about me, they felt that I am good at networking. They shared that they are not so good at it and asked me how did I develop that skill 13) Few questions from my resume 14) After the questions are completed, they asked me if I would like to add share anything else 15) Finally, they asked if I have any questions? They wanted to make sure that you are good fit to the school and are a team player. Do enough research about the school and talk to student ambassadors. Read Less

My Interview was with the Executive Director - Career Center and a second year student. In the beginning itself my interviewers made me comfortable and said this would just be a conversation to know you better and we wouldn't be throwing any trick questions at you. They were really polite. The questions were: 1. Walk us through your resume - some follow-up questions about current work 2. Why MBA & why Scheller? 3. What do you expect to get from the MBA experience/ things you want to improve in yourself through an MBA? 4. A situation where you had to deal with a difficult team member? 5. How do you deal with situations in which someone does not agree with you? 6. What would your co-workers and you boss say about you? 7. How would you contribute to the Scheller community? 8. Any surprising situation you encountered during a particular trek? (I had mentioned that as an activity of interest in my resume) 9. Any questions you have for us? It lasted for about 40 minutes. I think they appreciate the research you've done about the school, curriculum, etc. They want people who can get along well within a group and are willing to learn from as well contribute to the team/class. All the best :) Read Less
