I would like to share my interview questions that was asked to me in the session to help other candidates prepare and can picture the interview phase. Here are my questions:
1. Can you tell us about yourself?
2. Why NUS MBA?
3. Your industry is very niche (construction), how do you plan to utilize NUS resources?
4. How NUS MBA can support you goals?
5. Challenges in career?
6. In what stage are you applying for that Government Scholarship (I'm an awardee)?
7. What are the selection criterias in that scholarship tracks?
8. Have you worked with international clients?
9. I see you write writing as your hobby, can you give me a quick description on what are you writing and what is the last thing you wrote?
10. I heard that your scholarship policy has been changed, does it still require you to go back directly to indonesia? Do you have to go back to your fambiz immediately after graduation?
11. How do you plan to go to singapore and attend the NUS if you’re admitted
12. What is the biggest challenge for you if you’re admitted to MBA?

Focus on ISB: Given your background, you are a prime candidate for the ISB Young Leaders Program (YLP). ISB tends to value high CAT/GMAT scores more heavily than NUS, which places a massive premium on "Singapore job-market readiness."

Interview was conducted over zoom for ~30 minutes with NUS's assistant dean and another alumni from China who previously has a NUS MBA scholarship. It felt slightly harder than the typical MBA interview as there were a few gotcha questions that required thinking on the feet and some wittiness.
Questions asked:
1) Tell me more about yourself - I was prompted to describe more than just my professional experience but also who I was outside of work
2) Why MBA and how it related to your goals? - I said I forsaw myself being a CTO/CPO in a consumer technology company
3) Have you researched into what a CTO does?
4) Can you describe some innovative product in the market and what problem did it solve? (I was asked this question due to my background in design) - I talked about the Apple Vision Pro and Japanese Shinkansen
5) However, the Apple Vision pro is not selling well, as a product manager, how would you deal with that?
6) How do you view Linkedin as a platform that is declining in relevance? - I mentioned about social anxiety and potential toxicity by aggrieved/unfairly retrenched employees
7) You listed empathy in your essay as a core value, can you name a global leader that epitomizes this trait? - I got stuck a bit here as most modern global leaders don't really show this side of them in public but in hindsight, there are past servant leaders like JFK, MLK Jr
8) Using 3 words, describe yourself - I chose analytical, empathetic and excellent
9) Would you describe Elon Musk as an empathetic leader?
10) What about Donald Trump? Do you think his decisions are good?
11) Do you have any questions for us?
I rate my performance 7/10, questions were asked in a rather pushy tone at the start but gradually became more casual.

What GMAT score do I need for NUS Singapore?
The average GMAT score for NUS Singapore is around 670 (Classic) / 615 (Focus Equivalent) for the latest incoming class. As score is just one component of the application it does not mean that you can get in with 740 and someone will get dinged with 700.

What is the average GRE score for NUS Singapore?
NUS Singapore average GRE score for the latest incoming class is 320. The dynamics for most schools with GRE admissions is that a great profile with a lower-caliber GRE score seems to be acceptable but a below average profile will usually not be able to get in with above-average GRE score.
