I noticed that most people seem to have interviewed with second-year students; however, my interview was with an admissions committee member. Did anyone else interview with them? The interview was fairly short—around 20 minutes—and felt less conversational. The questions were quite generic, and the interview felt a bit rushed. 1. Why MBA? 2. Why Owen? 3. Short-term and long-term plans? 4. Major considerations in finalizing a school? 5. TMAT when you had problem with adjusting to a new situation/ place? 6. Any questions from your side. I also couldn’t really gauge reactions from the interviewer, as her expressions were quite neutral throughout. Read Less

Just got done with the interview. ~26 mins.. Was super chill. They introduced themselves and then asked to do the same. Why MBA? Why now? Why Owen? TMAT about leadership. How would you contribute to the classroom.? Any questions from you? (I asked 4). I think I botched the leadership question. I gave an irrelevant answer. I did my interview recently for round 2. There was only one true STAR question about a time I learned a new skill. They also seem to care about diversity- they asked what I would contribute to the community and then what I would gain from the diverse community. Also followed up with what I’ve learned the past from experiences where I’ve been around people different than me. Overall, it was not nearly as bad as I was expecting! I was nervous but the student was so nice and personable. Most of the questions were pretty standard. One thing to note- the platform they used was different than just plain old Zoom and I couldn’t figure out how to blur my background when I logged on. It might have been an option, but I couldn’t sit there and mess with it. I would try to keep that in mind and have a clean background in case you can’t get it to blur! Read Less

FAQ

What GMAT score do I need for Owen Vanderbilt?

The average GMAT score for Owen Vanderbilt is around 690 (Classic) / 635 (Focus Equivalent) for the latest incoming class. As score is just one component of the application it does not mean that you can get in with 740 and someone will get dinged with 700.
Here is what you can use as a guide:
1) Are you from an over-represented demography? If yes, add 30 points to the average to arrive at a competitive score for your peer group.
2) Are you from a unique background or disadvantaged group such as a refugee or first-time college grad? You can subtract 30 points from the average and still get in.

What is the average GRE score for Owen Vanderbilt?

Owen Vanderbilt average GRE score for the latest incoming class is 317. The dynamics for most schools with GRE admissions is that a great profile with a lower-caliber GRE score seems to be acceptable but a below average profile will usually not be able to get in with above-average GRE score. As the result, the average GRE score may look very tenable but it may not result into an Admit. This is just an average score and schools admit a spectrum of applicants.

Does Owen Vanderbilt accept without GRE or GMAT?

"Kelley offers test waivers for GMAT and GRE on a selective basis. You will have to apply for a test waiver in advance and will usually be notified within 2 weeks about qualifying. Applicants who demonstrate multiple examples of academic and quantitative aptitude are more likely to receive a waiver. Examples of relevant quantitative success include, but are not limited to: -strong performance in previous quantitative and analytical coursework at the undergraduate or graduate level, -five or more years of professional work experience with proven quantitative or analytical experience, and -earning a CPA or CFA certification or additional professional certification. There are some important factors to consider before requesting a test waiver: -We cannot offer a test waiver if you have already submitted a self-reported or official GMAT, GRE, or EA test score to Vanderbilt University. -Applicants are evaluated for a test waiver once per cycle and we are unable to accept appeal requests. -Ensure you are putting together the strongest application. Consider whether a test score can be used as an additional data point to showcase your academic potential. -Some employers may request a test score as part of their MBA hiring process. This is particularly true in industries such as consulting or finance. -An approved test waiver is not an admissions decision or an indication of an admissions decision."

What GPA do you need to get into Owen Vanderbilt?

Owen Vanderbilt average GPA is 3.5 note that the GPA is only calculated for the domestic US applicants and international GPA equivalents are not converted or included in this average. As the result, there is more leeway for international applicants as their GPA does not impact school's average but keep in mind that GPA's vary based on the prestige of the institution and rigor of the program attended. If your GPA is below 3.4 but is competitive for your program or background, you should address and explain this fact in the optional comments/essay available in the application specifically specifically for this purpose.

When is Owen Vanderbilt application deadline?

Owen has 5 application deadlines:
