The short answer: for the 2026-27 cycle, most Master in Management programs open Round 1 between September and October 2026, run Round 2 in November 2026 or January 2027, and close their final round somewhere between March and July 2027 for a September 2027 start. Among schools with confirmed dates, ESADE closes Round 1 first, on 1 October 2026, followed by INSEAD on 6 October and HEC Paris on 7 October. ESSEC has not yet published its 2027-intake calendar - all four rounds are still listed as to be determined. A meaningful minority of schools - RSM Erasmus, Warwick, LSE, IESE and ESMT Berlin among them - use rolling admissions instead of fixed rounds, where seats fill as offers go out.

More on what this page covers

This page tracks 29 MiM and MiM-equivalent programs across Europe, the UK, the US and Asia Pacific. For every program you get the published Round 1 to Round 4 deadlines, which admission tests are accepted, average GMAT and GRE scores, acceptance rate, class size and how many letters of recommendation are required. Every date is taken from the school's own admissions page - see sources and verification dates at the bottom.

Note: An asterisk on a GMAT average means the school still publishes GMAT Classic Edition scores, which are not directly comparable to GMAT Focus. An asterisk on a date (dashed amber pill) means the school has not yet published official dates for this intake and the date shown mirrors its previous cycle - treat it as indicative and confirm on the school's own page. A dash means the school does not publish that figure. Spotted something wrong, or want a program added? Reply on the deadlines thread and we will update it.

MiM Application Deadlines: Frequently Asked Questions

Rounds, tests, scores and timing

When are the MiM application deadlines for the 2026-27 cycle?

Most Master in Management programs open Round 1 between September and October 2026, with Round 2 falling in November 2026 or January 2027, Round 3 in January to March 2027 and Round 4 in February to June 2027. Among schools with confirmed dates, ESADE closes Round 1 first, on 1 October 2026, followed by INSEAD on 6 October and HEC Paris on 7 October. ESSEC has not yet published its 2027-intake calendar - all four rounds are listed as to be determined. Several schools - including RSM Erasmus, Warwick, LSE, IESE and ESMT Berlin - run rolling admissions with no fixed round dates. The table above lists the current published dates for every program we track.

Should I apply in Round 1 or Round 2 for a MiM?

Round 1 and Round 2 are generally the strongest rounds. Seats and scholarship budgets are allocated progressively, so later rounds compete for a smaller pool. Bocconi states explicitly that slots for its most sought-after programs and the majority of scholarships are more likely to be allocated in earlier rounds. Round 1 or 2 also leaves a realistic window for a student visa, which matters most for non-EU applicants to European schools and can take several months.

Do Master in Management programs require the GMAT or GRE?

Most top MiM programs accept either the GMAT or the GRE, and many now treat the test as optional or waivable. Some schools accept additional tests: HEC Paris, ESSEC and ESCP accept TAGE MAGE, Bocconi offers its own online admission test, ESMT Berlin accepts its Business Admissions Test, and the Indian IIMs use CAT. Check the Accepted Tests column above for each program.

Which MiM programs have rolling admissions?

Among the programs tracked here, RSM Erasmus, LSE, IESE and ESMT Berlin review applications on a rolling or continuous basis rather than in fixed rounds. Rolling admissions does not mean unlimited time - seats fill as offers go out, so applying early in a rolling cycle is materially better than applying late.

What GMAT score do I need for a top MiM program?

Average GMAT scores at the top European MiM programs cluster in the high 600s to low 700s. HEC Paris averages around 710, with ESSEC, ESCP, London Business School and Imperial in a similar band. Programs outside the very top tier are often competitive in the 640-680 range. Averages are midpoints, not cutoffs - a below-average score can be offset by academic record, quantitative coursework and international exposure. Ask about your specific profile in the Masters programs forum.

How many letters of recommendation do MiM programs need?

Most Master in Management programs ask for one or two letters of recommendation. Because MiM applicants are typically pre-experience, academic referees are usually acceptable and often preferred. The LORs column above shows the requirement for each program.

Can I apply to a MiM without work experience?

Yes. The Master in Management is designed as a pre-experience degree for recent graduates, which is its main structural difference from the MBA. Internships and relevant extracurricular leadership strengthen an application, but full-time post-graduation work experience is not required, and at some schools an extensive work history can actually make an MBA the better fit.

What is the difference between a MiM and an MBA?

A MiM is a pre-experience degree aimed at recent graduates, typically one to two years long, and priced well below an MBA. An MBA assumes several years of full-time professional experience and targets career switchers and accelerators. MiM class ages generally sit in the low twenties versus late twenties for an MBA, and MiM salaries at graduation are correspondingly lower, though the long-run gap narrows.

Do MiM programs accept the GMAT Focus Edition?

Yes - the GMAT Focus Edition is the current version of the exam and is accepted across MiM admissions. A small number of the class profile averages published by schools still reference GMAT Classic Edition scores, which are not directly comparable to Focus scores. Those programs are marked with an asterisk in the table above.

When do MiM programs release admission decisions?

Decision timing varies by school and round. Bocconi publishes results on fixed dates - 17 December 2026 for Round 1 of its 2027-28 cycle, then 4 March, 13 April and 10 June 2027. INSEAD publishes its own calendar: decisions land 4 December 2026, 5 February, 16 April and 25 June 2027. Schools with rolling admissions typically respond within four to six weeks of a completed application; IESE and Nova SBE both cite that window. Always confirm the decision date for your specific round on the school's own admissions page.

Sources, Methodology & Verification Dates

Where this data comes from and when we last checked it

Where this data comes from, how it is verified, and what the pill colours mean

How we compile this page. Every deadline, test requirement and class statistic on this page is taken from the admitting school's own admissions or class-profile page - not from aggregators, rankings tables or third-party guides. Where a school publishes fixed rounds, we list the application closing date for each round. Where a school reviews applications continuously, we mark the program as rolling rather than inventing round dates.

What the states mean. A solid coloured pill is an officially published date. A dashed amber pill* means the school has not yet released dates for this intake and the date shown mirrors its previous cycle - indicative only. A means the school does not run that round. A dash in a data column means the school does not publish that figure; we leave it blank rather than estimating. Where the Status column below reads Pending, the dates come from the school directly but are not yet posted publicly - confirm before you plan around them.

Known limitations. Acceptance rates for Master in Management programs are inconsistently disclosed - some schools publish applicant and enrolment counts, many publish nothing, and a few report figures across an entire masters portfolio rather than the MiM alone. Where a rate is shown as approximate, treat it as an order of magnitude, not a precise number. Average GMAT scores marked with an asterisk are GMAT Classic Edition and are not directly comparable to GMAT Focus scores.

Schools change dates without notice. Always confirm on the school's own site before you plan around a date here. If you find a discrepancy, please post it in the deadlines thread - corrections from applicants are the fastest way this page stays accurate.
