I go for B

Then when skimming reply, I really surprised when noboru said it D and then really happy when approaching noboru replied D.

Thank noboru

Interesting, I was between B and D and chose D.

Because the secret ingredient was white vinegar, researchers were surprised when participants preferred the white vinegar version of the cola beverage by a margin of three to one.

b Study participants focused on identifying the beverage with the “secret ingredient”.

IMO the word preferred indicates that the participants thought the soda w/ white vinegar tasted better.

I am definetly with A:

If most people IN FACT PREFER a cola beverage containing white vinegar, that explain (in other words: offer the best basis for an explanation) WHY participants preferred the beverage containing white vinegar.

Anybody challenge my argument?

Thank u all,

I wasn't sure between B and D as I missed the word surprised while analyzing...

however, A doesn't stand as it mentioned that "most people", does that have anything to do with our research participants here? that's why I scratched A...

I agree! Good CR question!

I guess, word 'surprise' is the killer. :)
