Y – Gel Pen
Z – Ink Pen
X+y+z = 17
0.05x + 0.10y + 0.25z = 2.05
5x + 10y + 25z = 205
X + 2y + 5z = 41
=> Y + 4z = 24
Now, y = 2z
=> 6z = 24
=> Z = 4 , y = 8
=> X = 17 – 12 = 5
=> Answer - B

If ab \ne 0 and |a| \lt |b| , which of the following must be negative?

\frac{a}{b} - \frac{b}{b}
\frac{a - b}{a + b}
a^b - b^a
a \frac{b}{a - b}
\frac{b - a}{b}

OA: b

OE uses algebraic approach. I tried using number testing to solve. But could not come up with a number plug that could prove (A) false .....please suggest some value to prove A wrong.
