Just for clarification, the 2 short essays hard cap is 250 words each? They used to be a range of 250-500, didn't it? 250 words is not a lot of room to maneuver.

Yes, it is a hard cap of 250 words for the two short essays. It seems that the application this year is more heavily focused on understanding the applicant as an individual given the relatively lengthy 1000 word cap for the personal statement. I agree that 250 words is really limited.

My Application status is Incomplete, reviewable. Are you guys seeing the same status ? Or will it change as they process the application.
Mine showed "Complete" from the minute I submitted it. It then went to "Invited to Interview" and now that I have finished that, it says "File Under Review." Is it possible they haven't received transcripts or a Letter of Rec yet? I'm not sure why it would say Incomplete otherwise.

The status does say that they have only photocopies of my transcripts; however, it also says that they do not need the originals until I am recommended for admission. They have my rec letters.

Mine went like this: Complete -> Incomplete, reviewable -> Invited to Interview

How was the interview? who conducted the interview: someone from adcom or alumni?

Interview was with AdCom and was very straight forward. Walked them through my resume, my current position, short term and long term goals and how I intend to achieve them. It was pretty conversational and very "Berkeley."

Can you please elaborate a little on "very Berkeley"?

They seemed very interested in me rather than just my pedigree/career/background. It is something I haven't really seen with the other schools and I think shines through in every event I have been to.
