It seems unlikely, but this is the first that I've heard of it. It is actually possible to answer a question correctly in 20 seconds, so I'd be surprised if that's the threshold. Easy DS and easy one-word SC questions come to mind when I think of 20 second answers.

You're unlikely to solve very many questions in anywhere near 20 seconds on test day though. It's always worth double checking the question and the answer if you solve a question that quickly.

Folks,

Please don't base your exam around rumors. Unless you can confirm these things w/GMAC, please do not add undue stress to others by spreading unconfirmed information.

This goes along with the misconception that the schools only receive your last three scores. According to GMAC:

Hi phoenix09,

Per GMAC's website:

https://www.gmac.com/gmac/thegmat/gmatscores/

Quote:

An Official GMAT Score Report shows each of these scores; in cases of repeat testing, the score report will show all of the test taker's GMAT scores for the past five years.

As long as a score is still within the 5 year window, it will show up on the score report to the schools.
