Use of When [#permalink] New post 17 Jun 2007, 06:50

Are there any specific rules for its usage ?

For e.g. One legacy of Madison Avenue’s recent campaign to appeal to people fifty years old and over is the realization that as a person ages, their concerns change as well.

(1) to realize that when people age, their

When in the context of #1 implies an immediate change, whereas "as people age" implies a contuity that is more in line with the gradual process of aging.
