A is correct as is, for me.
B. two clauses are not parallel. first begin by noun "improved efficiency" second by "demand". "demand will be.." is passive that need to be avoided. moreever, usage of which is incorrect.

I would go with B on this one as well.
The answers A and D uses "Thereby boosting", which is unidiomatic to the rest of the sentence.
Answer E uses "when" at the beginning of the sentence which does not parallel with what it is trying to referred to or modifying.
as for Answer C, is uses "of converting", this is unidiomatic

A. it will stimulate demand <vs> B. demand will be stimulated
When in doubt, always choose the active voice. This is THE SC golden rule strategy that consistently works over and over again.

A. in converting harvested trees into wood products may reduce harvest rates, it will stimulate demand by increasing supply and lowering prices, thereby boosting.
----> looks fine
B. In converting harvested trees into wood products may reduce harvest rates, demand will be stimulated because of increasing supply and lowering prices, which boost.
------. "which" stands too far from what it modifies. There's no need to change the original version into passive voice. Passive voice is not as preferred as active voice in GMATland. --->out
C. Of converting harvested trees into wood products may reduce harvest rates, it will stimulate demand by increasing supply and lowering prices, which boosts.
------> "of coverting" sounds unidiomatic.
D. Of harvested trees being converted into wood products may reduce
harvest rates, it will stimulate demand, because it will increase supply and lower prices, thereby boosting.
-------> fragmented sentence ---> out
E. When harvested trees are converted into wood products may reduce harvest rates, demand will be stimulated because of increasing supply and lowering prices, which boost.
----> same problem to B.
A it is.

I choose A... somehow got influence by the majority.
But its should be between A and B.
A is doubtful because of "it will stimulate...." it sounds ambiguous to me... a common pronoun trap
B is doubtful because it uses passive voice.
Maybe I'm wrong.. but I disagree that "which" is a wrong usage here... which refers to "increased supply and lower price"... "which" is modifying the correct group of words...
any comments?
Anyway, IWT08... whats the OA?
