Official Answer: A

We just have to simplify the expression:

\frac{\frac{1}{8} * (\frac{1}{16})^2 * 4^4}{\left(\frac{1}{64}\right)^{\frac{1}{2}} * 2^{-4}} = \frac{\frac{1}{2^3} * \frac{1}{2^8} * 2^8}{\frac{1}{8} * \frac{1}{2^4}} = \frac{\frac{1}{2^3}}{\frac{1}{2^3} * \frac{1}{2^4}} = 2^4 = 16

still wondering how you're transforming the term from 1/2^-4 to 16.. anyone available for help? :D

a^{-n}=\frac{1}{a^n}, hence (\frac{1}{2})^{-4 }=2^4=16.

Do you really think this is a 750 question? It seemed easier than some of the other 700-650 questions. Just my 2 cents.

Please confirm. Correct answer is 2^4 because the two 1/2^3 cancel out and leave 1/1/2^4?

600-650 level! the question is straight forward and test basic knowledge. Just be careful when changing the fraction into negative exponent.

This may seem like a stupid question but could someone please explain what happend to 1/2^8 * 2^8 in the nominator from the second to third step?

I tried to figure it out myself and looked up the math basics topic but haven't been successful.

Thanks!

\frac{1}{2^8} and 2^8 just canceled out, just as \frac{1}{7} and 7 would.

\frac{1}{2^8} * 2^8 = 1
