It all depends on how well the patent application fit in to your overall story. If it fits with the storyline of one of your essays, then mention the patent application. I wouldn't go out of my way just to mention it. It can make the story disjointed. You can always list the accomplish in your resume or in the accomplishment section of your application.
Thanks for your reply Asimov. The patents somewhat fit in with what I want to do in the future, I'll try to find a way to incorporate it into the story.
Another question, whats the approach applications when you're unsure of what you see yourself doing post-MBA?
I know for sure I have no interest in IB/Accounting/Corp Finance/marketing, but I could be interested in management, consulting, LDPs, etc., post MBA. Ultimately, I'd like to use my background to get into a director/VP level position at a large pharma/healthcare company. Is the latter too much of a vague or (un)/ambitious goal? Not unique enough?
I know I have a lot of brainstorming to do, but right now I'm focused on cracking the GMAT.
