Hi iota007, Welcome and congratulations!
Would you like to share your profile for the benefit of others? Also, if you can tell us when did you apply, when did you get an invitation for an interview, what was the interview like etc. I am sure others will appreciate it.

Hi Rohit,
Thanks! My profile is as follows:
Male/29/Indian/5 yrs work experience (oilfield services)/ GMAT 710
I applied in round 2 and received the invitation to the interview approx. one week after the round 2 submission deadline. Then, 2 weeks after the interview notification, I received the names of my interviewers and was given 2 weeks to complete my interviews. Both of my interviews were on telephone and conducted by alumni. The interviews started with a 10 min. presentation that I broadcasted over the internet, following which I was asked question about my presentation topic. This was then followed by regular questions about my background, why MBA, why HEC, etc. I would like to emphasize that I had a great time during my interviews. They were more of a discussion than typical question & answer session and at no point I felt that I was being grilled. Both the interviews lasted for about 45 minutes.

Hello iota007!
Thanks for sharing your experience. I am curious on your interviews. How did you manage to have them over the telephone? I thought that they have to compulsorily be in person.
Regards,
Prashant

They certainly would like the interviews to be conducted in person, but it's not obligatory. I had one interview in person, whereas the other one was conducted via Skype.
I'd also like to add that the interview experience varies from person to person - in my first interview I was most certainly "grilled". The interviewer asked some pretty good follow-up questions pertaining to my presentation (which I did on the different obesity-fighting campaigns that have taken place in America over the past 15 years); in addition, he went through and asked me why I felt that going to business school would serve me better than just progressing in my current job and whether I knew what I would be studying during my MBA - in essence, whether I really knew what I would be getting myself into. On the other hand, the second interview (via Skype) was a lot more relaxed - after my presentation, the interviewer only asked me why I had chosen the subject that I did, and then he proceeded onto the "standard" MBA entrance interview questions.

Hi Prashant,
I agree that the school says that it prefers having the interview in person. In my case, I was not the one who asked for the telephone interviews but it was the adcom that decided so. I wanted them to be in New Delhi, but I guess they could not find any alum in the area. They just told me that I would be having interviews via skype/ telephone and I did not ask them why.

How are you guys planning to fund your mba expenses ?? Please share your views and opinions here. I did go through HECs website but couldn't find much , except the information in this link: http://www.mba.hec.edu/How-to-apply/Fees Any loan schemes available for international students that cover the entire tuition fees ?? Please reply, thanks
Hi, Thanks for posting. I did go through this link before but had few queries that remain unaddressed . for e.g For Indian students, how much SBI can lend money? Does tuition fees mentioned in this link : http://www.mba.hec.edu/How-to-apply/Fees also cover other personal expenses as well ? And is it possible to avail loans from other banks in conjunction with SBI loan? Which educational loan have you applied for and what constitutes as a sound business plan ? Thanks in advance
