Hi Everybody, I did the pre application assessment on the IESE website and I got a reply from the admission office, encouraging me to apply. I am wondering though, do they send out a standard reply encouraging everybody who requests this assessment to reply, or do they discourage people in some cases.
I did the pre-application assessment for HEC (which is actually obligatory), not for IESE, so your mileage may vary on this from me. However, I'd imagine that they do this to discourage people who would have absolutely no chance of making it into the school from applying - saves time for everybody all around.
Thank you very much. I guess that boosts my confidence a little.. I am a Ugandan living in Uganda, and I have failed to find anybody on this forum who is also from sub shaharan Africa... especially applying to IESE. I hope that is a good thing and not a bad one.
I applied in R1 and received an interview invite on 15 Oct. I will be travelling to Barcelona for Open day and Assessment day on 16th and 17th Nov. My profile: 31, Indian Male, IT, 9 yrs, GMAT 690
I applied for second round on Nov 28. Extremely surprised to see hardly any activity at this forum considering IESE is among the top programs in the world.
A question for the round 1 applicants, when can i expect an interview invite if the adcom likes my application?

I got my reply in 4 days. However I get the impression that with Xmas you might expect to wait longer. They have yet to send offers to those interviewed in first round.

I got mine within a couple days (I think 3 or 4) as well.
I applied to IESE on Nov 28 for the Dec 03 deadline. I got an interview and assessment day invite today. I am actually surprised because I thought that assessment day invite option is considered after an applicant has interviewed.
I have a question. I am an applicant from Pakistan and the assessment day is on Jan 19. If I am unable to travel to Barcelona because of visa and financial constraints, will it reflect negatively on me?

A quick response will be highly appreciated.
It's hard to say. I know someone who ended up at IESE who asked them the same question. They said it was highly recommended that he attends AD. Essentially you are giving them only an interview and your essays to assess you by, if you skip AD. The assessment day shows them how you work within a group, and how well you present your ideas. However, you give very valid reasons for not being able to attend, and I don't think they would let that reflect negatively on you. So it's more a missed opportunity for you to showcase yourself.
This guy got an admit last year I am not entirely sure if he attended though. PMing might help.
I agree that there has been less participation in IESE. But IESE did get some love last year. I think the late posting of the thread has something to do with it?
