I am curious about why such a prestigeous school attracts less attention than lots of ordinary schools.
I think most people are drawn by the FT MBA rankings. The HEC MBA is not a top 10 MBA program currently and think this is why less people are showing interest compared to LBS, INSEAD, HBS, Stanford, Wharton etc.
Nonetheless, HEC has made significant progress in improving its MBA offering. The FT ranking's top factor is the amount of money graduates make three years after graduation. Since the graduating class of 2014 will be the first class enjoying the benefits of these efforts, I would expect the school to go up several places in the rankings around 2017 (2014 + 3 years) i.e. in about 4 years from now.
