Cornell likes when you visit them, as does Tuck. These are the schools where it is important. I think the best you can do is update them on your status, via phone or email, that you havent been able to get up there because of the storm (I feel you btw, still have no power at home myself from this thing).

I would tell them you would still love to visit campus and will reschedule as soon as possible. I think they will sympathize with your situation.

You need to send admissions an email stating that you were intending to visit the school on X date but your plans had to change due to damages suffered to your home from Hurricane Sandy. It is your intention to visit the school in the near future and will update them when an you can arrange it. You further want to state that Cornell is your top choice and you look forward to attending school there next fall.

Keep it direct and to the point. Do not go into too many details about the damage or your personal circumstances -- they understand the damage as every admissions person watches the news.

My guess is that you will get a very nice email back from somebody in admissions.
